Chocolate Cake

When talking about cakes, nothing beats moist chocolate cake for me, in parties and some occasions who serves cakes, I never dare to touch it unless it will be chocolate flavored only. I really like chocolate cakes so so so much but the only problem is I don’t know how to make a perfect chocolate cake, I’m a baking moron! You can let me grill, steam, fry, saute, stew and boil but in terms of baking, I’ll just give you big smile, lol :). It’s not that I can’t really bake but my baking skill is not really satisfactory at all. I’m still in the process of learning this cooking method, especially cakes and pastries, and that’s the big reason why I always buy the ready-to-bake chocolate cake mix. I tried many products already since few years ago but I did not able to write something about it since this idea of writing reviews about it just came to mind few days ago. So, all I want to rate here are the few products that I tried recently, I’m going to update this page as soon as I will be able to try another.

My ratings below are from 1-10, 10 is the highest of course.


This product is from Lebanon, I tried it 2 days ago and it was good. 

I made a mixture of all-purpose cream and chocolate syrup as its frosting, then I crushed few pieces of chocolate wafer stick to garnish it.

What caught my interest to buy this mix was the MOIST SUPREME that written on its label. I really like moist chocolate cake that’s why I baked it immediately after buying it 2 weeks ago. All I can say is they really described the product absolutely right since it was really moist and super delicious.

I made a mixture of thick cream and caramel syrup for the frosting, then I crushed few pieces of chocolate with nuts and sprinkle it on top of the frost. So yummy, yummy, yum!

Aside from the brand name which is Betty Crocker, another thing that caught my interest to buy this is the price, it was a little bit cheaper than the Pillsburry. Prices of almost all things in Kuwait nowadays increased from 10-35% so I need to be keen in choosing the good quality products with reasonable prices.

I was really satisfied with this product, the price and taste is perfect for me. Even my hubby said that it was one of the best. I made a mixture of sweetened condensed milk, all purpose cream and chocolate powder for its frosting, then i shredded few dark and white chocolate to garnish it. It was really yummy!

  2. Henry, thanks for dropping by but as I mentioned above “i’m a baking moron” that’s why I always used the ready to bake chocolate cake mix whevener I want to bake chocolate cake, lol :D. If I will be able to bake a perfect chocolate cake and not the ready to bake one, I will defiinitely post it in this blog. 🙂

  3. Hi, i noticed how you like moist in your chocolate cake. I’d like to share with you a recipe of an easy to do chocolate cake. My mom has been making this since i was a kid and we all love it, i don’t know where she got this recipe but now it’s hit with my own family. The secret really here is the cocoa to used to produce the perfect deep dark taste. I read you’re from kuwait so i hope HINTZ cocoa is available there as there is always supply here in riyadh. we ALWAYS use HINTZ, if we don’t have hintz we dont make this cake. google for a pic of it so you can easily spot it in your local grocery. anyway, here’s the recipe. i hope you try it and like it.

    1 ¾ cups flour 2 whole eggs
    2 cups sugar 1 small can evap. milk
    ¾ cocoa ½ cup vegetable oil
    2 tsp. salt 2 tsp. vanilla
    2 tsp. baking powder 1 cup boiling water
    2 tsp. baking soda

    Mix all the dry ingredients. Add eggs, milk, oil and vanilla. Stir in boiling water. Pour into greased baking pan and bake at 150°F for 30-45 mins.

    CHOCOLATE ICING:

    1 can condensed milk
    ½ cup cocoa
    1 big butter

    Mix in sauce pan and cook over low fire until spreading consistency.
