Actually I was confused first where should I post this recipe, in what category? Soup, Chicken or Pasta? Then, I chose the later because of some reasons. Anyway, here’s the recipe for the chicken sopas that I made yesterday, the picture was taken before garnishing, I forgot it!

Ingredients:
400 g chicken, sliced into small (don’t remove the bones since it will give a nice broth)
200 g pasta, cooked according to package direction
6 cups water or more
2 cups milk
1 cup corn kernel
1 medium carrot, julienned
2 cups cabbage, shredded
2/3 cup baguio beans, sliced very thinly
1 large onion, minced
3 cloves garlic, crushed then minced
1 stalk celery, sliced
1 chicken stock cube (optional)
1 tbsp. fish sauce
1 tsp. sugar
1 egg, beaten
salt and pepper to taste
3 tbsp. melted butter
chopped corriander for garnish
Hard boiled eggs (optional)
Directions:
1. Heat butter in a pot, then saute garlic and onions, then add chicken and stir until lightly brown.
2. Add water, salt, pepper and chicken cube. Bring to a boil, reduce the heat and simmer until the chicken are done.
3. Add carots, beans, cabbage, corn kernel, celery, sugar and fish sauce. Let it boil, simmer until the vegetables are done. Add the cooked pasta.
4. Stir in the beaten egg, once the egg is stirred in the soup, add the milk and continue stirring until it will boil. Adjust the seasoning.
5. Turn off heat. Garnish with chopped corriander and slices of hard boiled eggs. Serve hot.

Hi, you forgot to include in the directions when to put the pasta. Apart from that, thanks for the great recipe!
Hi regina, thanks for reminding me. I don’t know why I forgot it, lol
anyway I updated it already.
It would be nice if you can put where you copied your recipes from. I know you are not the original creator of this recipe. thanks.
Hi original poster, try to browse all my recipes posted in this blog and you will notice that I always mentioned where I get the recipe if it was not originally mine…if I copied it from anybody then I will surely mentioned it here. If you think you saw this recipe in other sites then that’s normal because no one can copyright a recipe, all you can copyright are the pictures and the wordings you gonna use for a certain recipe. I don’t know why you said that I copied it from somewhere, or maybe because there’s a link in the picture which is http://www.rieaanes.net , for your information that’s my site and I posted it also there under the recipe category. I also posted it in my other blog in angelfire. If you are not satisfied with my answer, then try to google the ingredients and directions that I used in this recipe and tell me what’s the result! Have a nice day!
today ill try ur recipe this is my 1st time……..my husband my 1st tester…..wish me goodluck..
hello, rieaane, nice to know your recipe: chicken sopas. I missed it terribly now that I’m here in Belgium. I remembered how my stepmother prepare the sopas. Correct me if I’m wrong, is it also good if you put the pasta (raw) during the time the vegetables are almost done? You keep on stirring it till the pasta is cooked. We never cook the pasta apart. Here in Belgium the vegetables I use are leek (prei), celery (selder), carrots (wortel) and cabbage. I cut carrots not in juliened but in tiny square to make it more attractive. I’m so grateful to find your recipe and with your permission, I’ll try it to my Belgian customers. More success!!!
hi rieaane! thanka for this recipe! I am actually following this ( cooking the elbow macaroni now) as I type hehe.. This will be our lunch now.
thanks again! Godbless!
